SURVIVAL RAFTS

Survival Products has several varieties of life rafts that are lighter weight and smaller packages than any other life rafts on the market. They accomplish this with aluminum CO2 canisters and square, rather than octagonal raft shapes. They are also more reasonably priced than any of the others. They come either FAA approved or non-FAA approved. The FAA approved rafts have added bulkheads in the interior of the tubes and a ballasting bag under the raft. These are used on all the airlines and in commercial aviation. The non-approved rafts are sold to private boaters and aircraft owners not for charter. The difference between the Coast Guard approved rafts and the FAA approved rafts is that the Coast Guard approved rafts are made of thicker side walls and use the heavier steel CO2 canisters, while the FAA approved rafts are much lighter in weight. The Coast Guard uses these rafts, however, in their own aircraft and helicopters.
