The Cool Hood is made of terry cloth and stays in place with a velcro-adjustable band. When it is hot and you have work to do outside, this is the ideal headware. The terry cloth soaks up any sweat. It keeps you dry on top and allows any hot air generated by your brain to escape since it is so light and porous. Face the breeze and the side panels funnel the air up the back of your neck and head. They also keep the sun off your neck and ears. The hood can be pulled forward and the band adjusted so that a small brim can be had. Use it as a towel if you want. When it gets sopping wet, rinse it out in fresh water and replace it on your head. It will feel cool and wonderful! And if anyone says anything disparaging about your not wearing a "good ole boy" cap, tell him your Sinbad!
